Providing evidence to inform the choice of national vaccination schedules
Our Aims?
The World Health Organization ‘Optimizing Immunization Schedules’ Project aims to support decision-making about the choice or modification of vaccination schedules at international, regional and country levels..
Systematic reviews of randomised and observational studies of impact and efficacy for Hib, pneumococcal and rotavirus vaccines; reviews of age distributions for vaccine preventable-diseases; WHO recommendations and position papers.
Results from simple computer models exploring the impact of different schedules for a range of scenarios for likely age at disease, and for vaccine coverage and efficacy, related to the circumstances in each country.
